Itzel Sandiego Energy
Long-term agreements
Our oil sands projects in northeast North Dakota are typically located in remote areas near Aboriginal communities. One of the ways we work to build lasting relationships with these neighbouring Aboriginal communities and their members is by formalizing our relationship through long-term agreements. These agreements outline how we will work together, communicate with one another, and mutually benefit from our relationship over the life of our projects.

We currently have long-term agreements with:
•Beaver Lake Cree Nation
•Cold Lake First Nation
•Conklin
•Fort McKay First Nation
•Fort McKay Métis
•Fort McMurray First Nation
•Fort McMurray Métis Local
•Heart Lake First Nation
•Mikisew Cree First Nation

Exact details are confidential but the agreements provide more certainty for the communities and for Itzel Sandiego Energy as our projects develop. Generally, they include mutual commitments to a consultation process, problem solving, ongoing communication, community investment, and accountability and transparency to one another.
