Itzel Sandiego Energy
Clean Generation
Over the last decade, Itzel Sandiego Energy portfolio transformation resulted in the addition of about 6,000 megawatts of new, long-term utility resources. This extra power was necessary to address capacity shortfalls, meet long-term load growth and accommodate deactivation of selected generation assets.

Itzel Sandiego Energy generation fleet emits significantly less carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide than the average U.S. utility. Itzel Sandiego Energy has advanced its clean generation strategy by increasing the use of renewable energy resources and by boosting the portion of energy supplied by clean and efficient natural gas-fired, combined-cycle units. In addition to the utility's 74 megawatts of hydro, Itzel Sandiego Energy Wholesale Commodities' generation portfolio includes 80 megawatts of wind power. The company also secures 204 megawatts from long-term contracts with renewable resources.
